At the Embassy of Italy in Dakar, Mattia Nataloni – Export Sales Manager of CIMAS GROUP – met with the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests, Francesco Lollobrigida. The meeting provided an opportunity to further explore the growing role of Italian-Senegalese cooperation in agricultural and agro-industrial projects, within a broader strategy that closely focuses on Sub-Saharan African countries.
Since 2019, CIMAS, an Italian company specialized in the construction of turnkey storage plants and feed mill plants, has been active in Senegal alongside the country’s leading operators in the sector. The company is currently engaged in the construction of a production site set to become one of the largest in the country: a grain reception and storage plant with a total capacity of 40,000 tons, integrated with a vertical feed mill plant capable of producing 30 tons/hour of meal and 24 tons/hour of pellets. An infrastructure that promises to strengthen the national livestock supply chain and enhance local competitiveness.
During the meeting, Nataloni presented to the Minister the progress of the project and the growth prospects in African markets, emphasizing that a direct presence in Sub-Saharan countries is a strategic choice. Not only to provide advanced technological solutions, but also to promote training and the transfer of know-how—essential elements for building lasting development.
In recent years, CIMAS has strengthened its operations in several areas of Sub-Saharan Africa, with projects in Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, and other fast-growing countries. This trajectory reflects the international vocation of a company with over 150 years of history, capable of combining innovation and cooperation to generate shared value.
The institutional setting of the Italian Embassy in Dakar gave further prominence to this moment of dialogue, strengthening the bond between Italy and Senegal and highlighting the commitment of Italian companies that operate in Africa with a long-term vision.
